Mairead Curtin and Athena Duncan founded Rebel Rebel in 2000 when they both decided to leave their roles in television for something a bit more rewarding and creative. Since then, they have grown a small floral events company into a thriving business with a shop in Mare Street Market and a workshop, including a weddings and events team, in Regent Studios next to Broadway Market in Hackney, East London. As well as designing floral creations, installations and bouquets for weddings, events, corporate clients, film and TV and photo shoots, they also hold regular flower workshops and courses, including private classes, for would-be florists and flower-loving enthusiasts.
These London-based Rebels source their flowers and foliage every day from New Covent Garden Flower Market and when in season, from local growers and from their own flower farm in Norfolk, filling their shop with the most beautiful blooms they can find to create gorgeous bouquets for London’s most discerning flower lovers. Rebel Rebel also has a sister company in northern Tuscany where the Rebels provide flowers for weddings and events, including growing their own flowers in their acre of land in the beautiful Serchio valley, and run flower courses all through the summer at their Italian Flower School.
